Supports senior members to maintain their independence by providing them with information, services and programs

The following programs are offered:

Community Volunteer Income Tax Program: Provides tax return support for individuals who have an uncomplicated return with an income $35,000/year or less or $45,000/year for couples. By appointment only.
Foot Care: LPNs provide foot care. A treatment includes nail trim, work on problem areas such as callouses, corns, etc. and ends with a wonderful foot massage. Cost is $40.00 cash or cheques. Call the centre to book an appointment.
Caregivers Support Group: The Caregivers Support Group is open to anyone caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or some other form of dementia. Meetings include discussions and sharing, with occasional guest speakers or videos. Group support and the care of the Caregiver are the focus of these sessions.
Day Away: This program is for isolated seniors. Seniors enjoy fun activities, companionship and a lunch together. The program runs from 9:30 to 1:30. Cost is $6.00. Call too register for this program.
Friendly Check-In: Caring volunteers phone seniors for a friendly chat to see how they are doing and to let them to know that someone cares about them. The calls are made on Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week.
Medical Drives: Seniors can request a drive through our Centre to a medical appointment. We can accommodate the drives whether it be in town or as far away as Kelowna or Kamloops. We ask that we be notified at least 3 business days ahead so we can give the drivers enough time to schedule the drive into their schedule. We have worked out a cost for mileage to cover the gas the driver would use. This would be paid to the driver at the time of the drive.
Senior Advisor: A trained volunteer works out of the Centre to help people with government forms and other related issues such as Guaranteed Income Supplements, Old Age Security, Canada Pension, etc. The Senior Adviser is available by appointment only.
